Speak Up.

Writer's picture: Xawo SoadeXawo Soade

Being comfortable is a privilege.

Being angry is a privilege.

But privilege means responsibility.

The outrage that stays within the confines of Western discourse—tweets, debates, and think pieces are nothing but a performance. If your feminism does not include the millions of girls forced under the blade, then what is it worth?

You cannot claim to fight for women and look away when it is inconvenient.

Speak up. Act. Because silence is complicity.
